I Will Remember Your Face

I Will Remember Your Face

Today was the first time I saw your face.
The first time I breathed in and sighed out.
The first time I tasted the world, spit out the bitterness
And swallowed the sweetness of our acquaintance.

Today was a revelation.
An epiphany of all that was before me.
All that is beyond me.
And all that is waiting for me.

Today I was exposed to the light on your cheeks
Disposed of darkness of the shadows and imposed of a new sight
-A sight of unified needs, impressive colors and unlimited feelings.

No history of sins. No past of errors.
Everyone is a stranger and all are my friends.
The first touch I feel is the first touch I know.
The first kiss I give is the first to show
The warmth I need and the love that will grow.

I lay waiting to explore the passing of the day.
I take my first steps to see
different ways of remembering the familiar.
I sleep my first night knowing I was born today
and if I die tomorrow
I have lived for the moment
and pray for the similar.

I was born today.
I will live forever.
I will remember your face.
That I’ll remember.
