I sometimes cut off the highway and drive down gravel roads on my way home. This is what I met yesterday. I pulled over as far as I could, grabbed my camera and shot through the windshield....I wasn't going to eat dust for any pictures, you know!
The sun was in my face and the dust was flying...thank goodness for sunglasses because I could barely see the grain truck. I had to fight dust, glare and a dusty windshield but I didn't have to adjust too much.
I just thought I'd share a view of what it's like in the country at harvest time.
In the arena that night, the whole last minute was drowned out by cheers — and then when the soaring music swelled, the confetti rained down as the harbinger of balloons and the hopeful first family took the stage, forget about it — it was a perfect end to a convention that last Monday, no one even knew if it would happen. But it did, and I'm so glad to have been there.
