2KSports MLB2K8 Fantasy All-Stars

2KSports announced a new version of Major League Baseball 2K8 for the Nintendo DS.  You may be expecting a typical port down from the major consoles, but this one is different. Looking like it was ripped from the old saturday morning cartoons, this MLB for the DS is all about the cell shading, which seems to be the fad lately.  In any case, MLB 2K8 Fantasy All-Stars "...features starting lineups from all 30 Major League Baseball clubs, a variety of exhibition and tournament modes, All-Star training mini-games, along with wild, fantasy-themed baseball stadiums.  The game utilizes the functionality of the DS touch screen to control the power and technique of their swings and the speed and accuracy of their pitch by performing specific gestures and intuitive usage of the stylus.  Fielding, baserunning and other controls will also utilize the DS touch screen, as players drag and trace lines to execute these specific baseball actions.  Players will also have the ability to obtain special ?power ups? to complete incredible batting, pitching, and fielding performances."

If you want to see some videos of this, check out our downloads section of the website by hitting up the 2K Sports directory.  Or you can check out one of those by downloading it here:  Baseball_Clip_A_FINAL.mov

You can expect this to come out to the DS on April 14th.

One Last Look at the Republican Convention: the Balloon Drop!

I was listening to McCain's nomination acceptance speech on the radio on the way to the airport yesterday and it sounded so different than it did in the arena. I actually got to hear the fiery end to the speech, the part where he said:

Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We're Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.

In the arena that night, the whole last minute was drowned out by cheers — and then when the soaring music swelled, the confetti rained down as the harbinger of balloons and the hopeful first family took the stage, forget about it — it was a perfect end to a convention that last Monday, no one even knew if it would happen. But it did, and I'm so glad to have been there.

To see the balloon drop,
