Eh, so yeah, it's not as good news as a brand new sequel, but I'll take this. I just posted up a news story about Chrono Trigger coming to the Nintendo DS.
A good deal of you already know how awesome the game is, but those of you who've never played it, wow, you're in for quite a treat. Chrono still stands as my favorite RPG of all time, and I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to play through it again on the DS (I'd been hoping for a port for Virtual Console, but I'm guessing we'll have to wait a bit longer for that now). Oh, and thankfully Square Enix isn't remaking it in 3D like some of its SNES era Final Fantasy games -- apparently this will be a straight port. I just don't think I could bear seeing this redone in 3D on the DS.
Anyway, this plus Dragon Quest IX have me really excited for RPGs on the DS again. I was looking forward to trying Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 this week, but Milky didn't seem to think it was that great in his review, so I don't know.
Well, back to work, but I just had to share how thrilled I am about this news. :)
In the arena that night, the whole last minute was drowned out by cheers — and then when the soaring music swelled, the confetti rained down as the harbinger of balloons and the hopeful first family took the stage, forget about it — it was a perfect end to a convention that last Monday, no one even knew if it would happen. But it did, and I'm so glad to have been there.
