Amidst a week of hectic Champions League and UEFA Cup matches, this piece of news almost slipped past me. According to TODAY newspaper, Milan have plans to set up a football school in Singapore. The camp, set to be called AC Milan Junior Camp, will provide training for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 18. [...]

Sydney  - Former world number eight Alicia Molik has retired from tennis, citing injuries and her struggle against the middle-ear virus vestibular neuronitis, news reports said Friday.

The 27-year-old is the only Australian woman to be ranked in the top 10 in the past two decades.

"Injuries and niggles are part of being an athlete and you accept it, but every time you suffer a setback it's not just difficult physically but it's very emotionally draining as well," Molik told Melbourne's The Age.

Hong Kong - The horse ridden by former Olympic champion Rodrigo Pessoa at the Olympics has tested positive for a banned substance, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) confirmed on on Friday.

A B sample has confirmed the positive test on Rufus following a control after the Olympic individual final on August 23 where Brazilian rider Pessoa finished fifth.

The test has shown traces of the prohibited stimulant nonivamide, the FEI said.
