It seems that someone in Britney’s life is doing some moving and shaking. Her manager is being fired and her legal representatives are on the verge of quitting:
Howard Grossman, the business manager, tells PEOPLE he is aware he was the subject of a closed-door hearing Thursday but he has no idea why a temporary conservator’s motion to give Spears’s father the right to fire him was granted.
Court papers show that Grossman was served Thursday with orders to surrender “all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears.”
“The only thing I will say is my reputation speaks for itself,” Grossman says. “I couldn’t tell you why they chose this path.”
Also, divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope tells PEOPLE he filed papers Friday asking permission to be released as Spears’s attorney in her custody battle with Kevin Federline.
A hearing will be held on the matter on March 10. The high-profile divorce attorney had filed similar papers several weeks ago, but retracted them.
“We filed paper asking to be relieved, and hopefully they will find someone to replace us,” Trope tells PEOPLE. “I’m not at liberty to say more at this time.”
This from the attorneys who swore to stand by the singer in her hour of need?
Hopefully Brit’s dad and co-conservator Wallet can bring in some people who not only know what they are doing, but who are not in league with Osmegma. It’s been said that her family is trying to convince Laura Wasser to return as her legal counsel.
And check out what Smegma’s new publicist, Michael Sands, has to say about Kevin and Britney:
“Kevin Federline needs to get on TV and say, ‘I’m learning about Britney’s bipolar disorder. He needs to step up to the plate and not hide behind the shield of his lawyer and be a man. He could become a hero instead of hiding.
He’s the better parent, and he has the right to his own life. He’s divorced, and if he’s smoked pot, as reports have said, so be it. The kids are safe with him. But he’s got to step up and help Britney. Don’t hide behind your lawyer. He needs to learn and speak out so he can help his kids as they get older. People will become ultra sympathetic towards Britney as they learn about this illness.
Britney needs to be in a hospital for a year. She needs to see her kids. She needs to be in a nice atmosphere. This is overkill, it made my stomach turn. Every time we had to go into court, yes we have to protect the kids. But every mother, healthy or unhealthy should see their kids. In Britney’s case, her parents need to let Sam Lutfi in her life and drop this. You can’t blame someone for mental illness. Mark Vincent Kaplan needs to lay off. Everyone has to lay off! Before Britney dies accidentally.
As for Kevin’s lawyer, “Mark Vincent Kaplan needs to lay off! I love him, but he needs to lay off Britney Spears, someone who has an illness.
“This is the reality. I don’t know if everyone is smoking or drinking, but everyone needs to sober up and look at this in a clear way. Britney could do a lot of charity work in this disorder once she gets well. She’s not Frankenstein. Many people are bipolar.”
Don’t forget, Sands used to be the PR guy for Mark Vincent Kaplan…yep, Kevin’s lawyer.
And yeah…lots of people are bipolar, but lots of people don’t hold their children hostage and are controlled by Svengali-type creeps. There are more things in this situation than just Brit is allegedly bipolar and needs to take her meds. Nobody is saying that she is Frankenstein, they just want her to get well. Don’t forget, she was classified as “Greatly Disabled”, and if she can’t take care of herself then she certainly can’t take care of those children. Sands should remember that the ultimate goal of all this is to get her well and reunite her with her children.
And if Joe Schmoe in Plumpluck, Nebraska, did what Britney has done, I’d expect the treatment to be the same as what is attempting to be done with Brit.
Earlier this month, crushing rains left 20 people dead and over 20,000 stranded when overwhelming rainfall left five feet of standing water in the low-lying areas. This is on top of already taxed landscapes that flooded when melting Himalayan glaciers burst the 200 rivers that web across the country last year. Bangladesh under water is seeming like a real and permanent possibility.
The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) — whose claims are usually conservative — said that Bangladesh is heading to lose 17 percent of its land and 30 percent of its food production by 2050. That's like California and New York drowning, and the whole Midwest ceasing production of food.
If this happens, more than 20 million Bangladeshis will be without a patch of land to stand on. Though hardship in the country isn't entirely recent: since 1971, Bangladesh has endured over 200 disasters that have left a total of 500,000 dead and affected a total of 500 million people.
And I haven't even said anything about the plague of rats that's consuming all of their food. A plague of rats. I wish, wish there was more room for stories like this in the general consciousness — shouldn't we be hearing about this every night? Not to dwell on the gloomy, but just knowing about this makes the answer to this question pretty clear to me.
